Description

Gaviscon Extra 500mg Tablets belong to a group of medicines called flux suppressants, which forms a protective layer on top of the stomach contents to prevent stomach acid escaping from the stomach where it seeps into the food pipe causing pain and discomfort.

Uses

Gaviscon Extra 500mg Tablets are used for the treatment of symptoms Including -

1. gastro-oesophageal reflux or GERD
2. acid regurgitation, 
3. heartburn and 
4. indigestion.

Benefits 

It may be used alone or with other medications that lower acid production including H2 blockers such as cimetidine/ranitidine and proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole.

Side effects 

Nausea and constipation are some of the side effects.
