How the doses usually progress

2.5 mg – first month (starter dose)

Mounjaro is a once-weekly injection given just under the skin. Follow these steps each time you take your dose.

Step 1: Pick your weekly day

Choose one fixed day of the week (for example every Monday) and keep the same day each week to avoid missing a dose.

Step 2: Remove the pen from the refrigerator

Take the pen out about 10–15 minutes before injection so it reaches room temperature.

Do not heat the pen using hot water or the microwave.

Step 3: Check the medicine

Before using:

2. Check the expiry date

3. The liquid should be clear and colourless

4. Do not use the pen if it is expired, frozen, cloudy, or leaking.

Step 4: Wash and prepare

2. Attach a new needle

Step 5: Choose the injection area

You can inject under the skin in:

1. Abdomen (stomach area)

2. Thigh

3. Upper arm

4. Change the area every week to prevent skin irritation.

Step 6: Give the injection

1. Gently pinch the skin

2. Place the pen straight against the skin

3. Press the injection button

4. Hold for about 10 seconds to receive the full dose

5. Do not inject into a vein or muscle.

Step 7: After the injection

1. Remove the pen

2. Carefully remove the needle and dispose of it safely

3. Never reuse needles

4. Store the pen back in the refrigerator
